Applying for these STEM scholarships is easy!

Simply complete the NKU application and declare a STEM major* in the process. That's it! We'll contact you if you meet the eligibility requirements.

STEM scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis, with interviews starting in November for the upcoming spring semester.

CINSAM Scholarship

Up to $3,000 total towards tuition, books, and/or housing based on need


Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be an incoming first-year student declaring a major in a STEM discipline.
  • Achieve a 3.0 GPA or higher in high school.
  • Complete the NKU admissions application by the deadline, submit the application fee and high school transcript(s).
  • Participate in an on-campus scholarship interview during the spring semester for final consideration (if invited to do so).


Renewal Requirements

To continue receiving this scholarship in subsequent years, recipients must:

  • Remain in one of the STEM disciplines (you may change majors within STEM and remain eligible).
  • Earn 24 or more credit hours per academic year (AP, IB, dual enrollment, and transfer credits do not count).
  • Make satisfactory progress toward your STEM degree as defined by following your approved academic plan.
  • Maintain a cumulative NKU GPA of 2.5 or higher. Students with a GPA between 2.0 - 2.5 will be placed on a remediation plan to retain their scholarship.

Greaves Scholarship

Full in-state tuition and books

(Recipients can only utilize one full NKU tuition scholarship/waiver.) 


Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be an incoming first-year student declaring a major in a STEM discipline.
  • Have a composite ACT score of 25 or SAT score of 1210 or higher, and rank in the top 25% of their high school class. (If a student's high school does not have class rank information, then the student's GPA will be considered.)
  • Complete the NKU admissions application by the deadline, submit the application fee, high school transcript(s), and ACT or SAT scores.
  • Participate in an on-campus scholarship interview during the spring semester for final consideration (if invited to do so).


Renewal Requirements

To continue receiving this scholarship in subsequent years, recipients must:

  • Remain in one of the STEM disciplines (you may change majors within STEM and remain eligible).
  • Earn 24 or more credit hours per academic year (AP, IB, dual enrollment, and transfer credits do not count).
  • Maintain a cumulative NKU GPA of 3.0 or higher each year (calculated at the end of each spring semester).
